SHA is a family-owned company with over 6 years of experience supporting thousands of students at boarding schools nationwide. As parents ourselves, we understand the fear and uncertainty that comes with learning your student needs to leave campus immediately. When mandatory leaves are required for illness, discipline or mental health reasons, parents want to know their student will be cared for by someone who is qualified, reliable and available 24hrs to provide supervision until they can return to school.

- Once your student leaves campus, the school can no longer provide support
- US law prohibits anyone under 18 to stay in a hotel alone
- Hospitals will not release minors to anyone who is not a legal guardian
- Medical and Educational records cannot be shared without written consent
- Questions to consider:
- What if you or your guardian are away on vacation when the school calls?
- Will your guardian leave your student alone while they go to work each day?
- What if you can't travel or leave work to pickup your student same-day?
For these reasons, all memberships include a written agreement with each family allowing SHA to act as your student's "legal" guardian for any emergency. All of our Chaperones are pre-screened and background checked for safety, and certified in first aid, CPR and youth mental health first aid, so your student will always receive the best possible care based on their individual needs.

Supervision + Care
SHA Chaperones have been pre-screened and background checked for safety, as well as trained in First Aid, CPR and Youth Mental Health First Aid. We also take extra care to make sure they are qualified to work with students and teenagers. All of our Chaperones have students of their own and come from boarding schools, or have experience working in education. Students will receive the best possible care and comfort during any overnight service to ensure their health and safety while away from home.

Where do students stay off campus?
Premium Homestay & Hotel Accommodations
In most cases, students will stay in a homestay with a certified local host nearby to campus. If there is no availability with our Homestay network, we will place students in a private room at a local hotel with 24hr Chaperone supervision. We use "all-suites" properties with living areas and kitchens in each room. Our experience has shown that students adjust better in an extended stay environment, especially when recovering from medical or mental health emergencies.

How does pickup work?
Private Car Services
All pickups are coordinated by SHA Staff using private car services to ensure safety and reliability. All drivers have been pre-screened and background checked in advance, and all vehicles have been inspected for quality and compliance purposes.
For illnesses such as COVID+ emergencies, we may use specialized vehicles with partitions for safety. First-class quality...for health reasons!
