SHA is available 24/7 to respond to a student who does not have a local contact or support network to pick them up quickly and provide short-term care off campus. If an emergency contact will not pick up a student, our network of professional chaperones, hotels and drivers are standing by in a health crisis (including COVID-19) to provide same-day service and access to medical care once enrolled.
A program "membership packet" is sent to the student's family which takes about 5 min and includes a guardianship agreement allowing SHA and it's partners to provide needed care.
Once we receive notice that pick-up is required, our private car service will arrive at a designated location on campus to provide "contactless", door-to-door transportation to one of our trusted hotel partner locations. We make sure the student is moved safely and quickly to minimize exposure, and then placed in a comfortable, secure environment for ongoing care with 24/7 adult supervision.
We have capacity to provide off-campus care for individual students as well as large groups, as needed, at any of our screened and vetted hotel locations in the area. A professional chaperone (background checked & drug screened) will stay at the hotel with the student(s) for as long as care is needed. Depending on the # of students at any location, more than 1 chaperone may be used.
Many international students need a place to stay in the US year-round, and some domestic students stay local to school during breaks for internships or summer programs. Our families go through extensive qualification involving criminal and vehicle background checks, as well as in-home inspections and interviews. Our goal is to provide a safe and accommodating experience.
We work with local host families to provide extended stay & care options for students who want to remain nearby to school during breaks, summer programs or in between semesters.
