In February of 2021, we received a call from a Health Director at a CT boarding school who had a student walk into their center after testing positive for COVID-19. As an international student who did not have a local Guardian or an Emergency Contact, the school referred her family to SHA. We picked her up within a few hours, and moved her to a 3-star hotel Quarantine for the next 14-days with 24/7 onsite supervision and medical care. She returned to campus 2 weeks later!
SHA is now her Guardian for the remainder of the academic year, and we will make sure she returns home safely to her family this summer!

Check with your School first to see if they have Emergency Contact Service with a "GAP".
Every membership includes a Certificate of Emergency Contact that is sent to your student's School to keep on file for their records in case of an emergency.
If you are a US parent with no local/family support within driving distance (6 hours) of your student's school, SHA can act "in absentia" on your behalf to provide any needed care off-campus (for example: short-term overnight stay off-campus at a local hotel or host family, transportation to/from school, airport pick-up/drop off, and any required medical care). SHA is available around the clock, all inquiries are answered very quickly. We are from Germany and have sent our son to the USA for a school year abroad. With SHA everything worked out great: our son was picked up on time from the airport in NY and driven to the hotel. Once there, he was immediately welcomed and accompanied by his caregiver. All questions that came up were answered immediately. We are very satisfied and recommend SHA!

Yes! However, it is not recommended based on a limited number of memberships available each year. We cannot guarantee availability or access to any services if your student is not already a member. Also, you may not be meeting your school's requirement to have a verified Emergency Contact or Guardian on file. We communicate directly with school Health Directors to make sure any student who lists "SHA" as their Emergency Contact is a registered member.
Minimum 1/2 Year Membership is required for "same-day support" requests.
*Expedited Service Fee will also be assessed (ENROLL NOW to avoid added fees later!).
Due to the current environment surrounding COVID-19, we must prioritize service to students who are already members in an emergency situation. Also, schools will usually require that students who test positive for COVID-19 be off campus within 12-24 hours. Do not wait until an emergency!!
SHA excels in meeting student health needs when the student is far from home. Our son recently needed a rapid result COVID test on an expedited basis - and on a Sunday night. SHA moved swiftly to find a clinic, provided transportation to that facility, and handled every step of the process quickly and efficiently. Within a matter of hours, the test was done, the (thankfully negative) results were in and our son was back to his homework!

Our first priority is your student's health and safety. In the event they test positive for COVID-19 while enrolled in one of SHA's Memberships, the student will receive the following care within 24 hours:

Make sure to check with your school to see if they already have a Group Plan "GAP" with SHA first! If your school does not have a GAP plan, you can enroll your student into one of our Memberships to have access to our "back to school" services.
SHA can arrange for your student to be picked up at the airport by a private black car or SUV when their flight arrives (limousine service also available). Our chauffeurs will drive them safely to their school, or next location. If your student will be entering into quarantine, or off-campus housing with SHA, they will be greeted by their chaperone at the hotel who will handle everything from there.
Parents will have access to a mobile application that allows you to communicate directly with your student's chaperone, and receive real-time updates (including student's health info during emergencies). The app is only available when students are in "supervised care" off campus.
If your students does not have a local emergency contact, or requires support while attending school, we highly recommend enrolling in a program now to guarantee acceptance and access to all services when needed!
